John Hooper
John Hooper, hailing from Hawaii via Los Angeles, brings a wealth of experience to J.J. Bennett and The Mercy with his masterful bass playing. Having performed alongside some of the finest musicians in the industry, John’s journey includes sharing the stage with Hawaii’s premier jazz and classical pianist, the late Rene Paulo, and delivering electrifying performances with rock legend Chuck Berry in L.A. Since relocating to Atlanta, John has left his mark on the local scene, playing with renowned blues guitarist Wayne “Bear” Sauls of Eric Quincy Tate, as well as The League of Decency, Barry Richman, Larry Griffith, and Zion Stoval. His versatile style and deep musical roots contribute a soulful foundation to the band’s fusion of ‘60s rock, southern blues, and psychedelic grooves, helping J.J. Bennett craft a sound that bridges the raw energy of the past with a bold, innovative future.
